Q: When should I arrive for my service?
A: We always recommend that our guests arrive at least 20 minutes prior to their services to allow themselves to get accustomed to their spa environment, place personal items in the lockers provided and change into the robe and slippers provided (if desired). The use of our steam room is encouraged, optional and is at no extra cost to you, but please allow 30 minutes before or after your service to enjoy this ammenity.
Q: How far should I disrobe for my massage?
A: We suggest that you undress to your level of comfort for your services. A robe and slippers are provided and undergarments are optional. You will always be draped appropriately for all services and only the area being worked on will be exposed.
Q: Are there any guidelines for booking an appointment?
A: Please have your gift certificate number and/or credit card number available when booking an appointment. This is to secure your appointment only; your credit card will not be charged unless you fail to honor our cancellation policy. Also, please bring your gift certificate to the spa at the time of your appointment.
Q: Are there any other guidelines?
A: Smoking and the use of cell phones in the spa are not welcomed due to the fact that we have created an atmosphere of calm, well being and vacation from the outside world. Also, please inform your therapist of any medical conditions or medications you are taking if they might effect the results of your service. Also, please use quiet voices, as not to disturb others.
Q: Can my child come with me to the spa?
A: We love children at Spa Sydell, but we cannot supervise unattended children. They must be accompanied by an adult and remain in the waiting area so that other spa goers may completely enjoy their services. Children may not accompany their parent into a treatment room due to the fact that safety cannont be guaranteed.
Q: How do I handle tipping?
A: Gratuities/tips are optional according to your treatment and overall spa experience, but as a rule if you were more than satisfied with your service and feel a tip is warranted, we supply tip envelopes at check out for you to write a little note to your therapist and tip accordingly. The general rule on tipping is approximately 15%, but not limited to that and not required. It is perfectly appropriate for you to use your discretion on the amount of the tip.Tips can only be left in cash or check.
Q: If I do not show up for my appointment, will I be charged?
A: Yes, you will be charged a surcharge of 25% on Sunday-Friday, 50% on Saturday and 100% on Holiday weekends unless you cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
Q: If my gift certificate expired, can I still use it?
A: After one year, within 60 days of expiration, you may renew your gift certificate by paying 20% of the value of the certificate.
Q: How old do you have to be to enjoy a service?
A: Minors that are 16 years of age or older must have a guardian or parent sign a consent form before services can commence. Minors 16 years of age or older need to be accompanied by an adult if they wish to have a massage or body treatment. Teen Clean and nail services are acceptable services for younger clients.
Q: What if I am late for my appointment?
A: The client following you is entitled to his or her full appointment time. Arriving late for your appointment will minimize the duration of your service. Your service will end at the scheduled appointment time to ensure that the next guest's scheduled service will not be delayed.
Q: Are there services that require preparation?
A: Yes. Waxing services require hair at least 1/8 of an inch in length to ensure proper removal of hair. This generally constitutes at least two full weeks of growth. Air brush tanning services require skin exfoliation prior to tanning service. Pedicure, Body Polish & Body Wrap services require skin that has not been freshly shaven due to potential skin sensitivity.
Q: Is there a place to leave my jewelry and other valuables?
A: Lockers are available for your personal belongings, but we recommend that you leave your jewelry and any other valuables at home. The Spa is not responsible for lost or forgotten valuables.
Q: What do I do if I have any physical, medical or allergy concerns?
A: Please notify your Call Center Representative when booking your treatments, as well as your technician at the time of your service, if you have any known skin allergies or if you are on any medications. We should also be made aware of any health conditions, physical disabilities or any possibility of pregnancy. There are specific services which are not suitable for some medical conditions.
