Richard Harris, CEO

Now the Chief Executive Officer of Spa Sydell, his first positions out of school were in the service industry, an ideal foundation for his future in the spa business. While working in the hospitality profession, Richard taught himself the art of marketing, public relations and promotions. He took a grassroots approach to successfully building awareness with his target audience.

Richard's career in the spa business began with the opening of Spa Sydell in 1982, where he utilized his past experience as the new Director of Marketing. He worked for years to brand Spa Sydell in the market and to help build the business from one to seven spas. He became CEO in 1997 and oversees all operations of the family-owned business.

A New York native, Richard grew up in New Jersey and moved to Atlanta in 1969. He was a member of the first class of The Galloway School, and resides in the Chastain Park area of Atlanta among a lavish garden of Japanese maple trees. A self-taught artist, Richard's vibrant geometric work adorns the walls of each Spa Sydell location and on the labels of the Flo line of products.
