Waxing is a method of temporary hair removal which removes the hair from the root. New hairs will not grow back in the previously waxed area for 3 - 8 weeks. Almost any area of the body can be waxed including eyebrows, face, bikini, arms, back, abdomen and legs.
Reasons for waxing - The benefits for waxing is new hair re-growth in waxed areas is soft and fine, not sharp and coarse like shaved hair and eliminates razor burns. After repeated waxing for areas like legs, bikini and underarms, hair re-growth is less common.
Facts -
- Users of Retin-A, Renova, Differin and other perscription medications for the skin are advised not to have waxing services performed. Medications tend to weaken the skin and may cause tearing of the skin when wax is removed.
- Regularly exfoliating the skin will keep your ingrown hairs in check and lead to a super smooth wax.
Myth - Waxing does not create darker or thicker hair re-growth.
