What can I expect during my Erbium Pixel Laser Facial treatment?
Before beginning, a topical numbing agent is applied to the treatment area(s) to ensure patient comfort. The actual treatment is generally quick, but it depends on the area(s) being treated. While some may feel mild discomfort and localized heat, the treatment should not be painful.
How long does recovery from an Erbium Pixel Laser Facial Treatment take?
The healing process of Erbium Laser is very minimal. Immediately after, your skin may look and feel like sunburn, with symptoms normally subsiding within the hour (up to 24). Over the next 1-2 weeks, as your skin heals, expect dry and flaking skin. Be sure to keep your skin hydrated and protected with daily SPF.
Post-Treatment Care
Clean the treated area daily with a mild cleanser.
- Apply a thin layer of mild moisturizer to the area several times a day until evidence of dryness, blistering or swelling has dissipated.
- You can skip washing your face the night of your treatment as the treated area may be a little temperature sensitive.
- Avoid chlorine, hot tubs and swimming pools during the treatment program.
- Avoid direct contact in the sun during your treatment program. Always use a topical sun protection of SPF 30.
- Avoid the use of exfoliants, loofah sponges and aggressive scrubbing to the treated areas.
- Avoid active ingredients in your skincare for a few days post treatment. If you have products at home you want to verify or would like recommendations for products, please consult with your aesthetician.
